Interviews
In a survey completed by 750 individuals ranging from 20 - 60 years old, we were able to learn about the everyday process/obstacles that a person encounters when getting dressed. I believe we could improve our insights by surveying professional stylists to learn how they go about doing it with individuals in a physical setting.

The affordability, quality, and profession definitely are important factors when purchasing items to add to ones wardrobe. When it comes time to deciding what to wear, weather, occasion, and availability are factors to take into consideration. Gathering from our interviews, data shows that they curate their outfits based off of their choice of shoes.
-
Yes, celebrities and influencers have a huge impact on wardrobe inspiration, but according to the interviews, they didn’t like the clothing just because of the person. They liked the clothing because they genuinely liked it. The influencers just brought more exposure to the clothing. Social Media and apps definitely provide the outlet for people to show their wardrobe, inspiring their audience and creating trends. Pinterest and Instagram are the main platforms utilized in finding inspiration, whether you are seeking it or just

While gathering information from the interviewees, we learned that there are multiple pain points in the outfit coordination process. Many of the women complained about not having options in cute comfortable shoes that match the style of their outfit, and males stated that there is lack of options in colors and style for them. Both male and female struggle with color coordination though.
-
The average time in just deciding on an outfit ranges from 30 - 45 minutes. When asked, interviewees stated they start their outfit curation based off of their shoes. During decision making, those we interviewed say they feel confident when putting an outfit together, and the next emotion that is commonly felt is uncertainty. The outfit they envisioned looked good in their mind, but when it came time to putting the articles of clothing on, it didn’t turn out like they had hoped.
User-Persona
Jessica Washington
35 years old. Magazine Executive Editor.
“I spend too much time trying to put an outfit together already, and when I struggle with making outfit decisions I get overwhelmed. I need someone or something to help me get my time back, so I can focus on my job responsibilities.”
Jessica is an executive editor for a fashion magazine who loves shopping online. Her dream is to take her love for fashion, connections, and business acumen to start a magazine of her own, which caters to styling women from low-income communities. Jessica currently styles herself; however, she hates the amount of time she spends curating her outfits daily due to being indecisive about her own fashion.

Take Aways
A lot of users didn’t understand what elements in the prototype are fully functional, but were still able to complete their tasks. Maybe go for a neutral color scheme for the app. Have a style questionnaire built-in so the app can give recommendations based off the users answers, and the user can purchase it in-app. Could there be a future feature to color code the wardrobe? It can be tedious to load your entire wardrobe. Hovering capabilities need to be changed, since it would not be functional on touchscreen devices. Allow for the future an AI virtual try-on element to ensure apparel compatibility.
